Ever since HBO announced they were creating a TV show based on the Game of Thrones series by George R.R. Martin, I have been breathless with anticipation. Could they do the books justice? Would they cast the characters well? Did a TV show mean that George would finally (FINALLY!) finish the series, or at least publish book 5, “Dance of Dragons”? We’ve only been waiting since 2005 . . . but I digress. Luckily my bitterness about (STILL!) waiting for “Dance of Dragons” didn’t keep me from watching the Game of Thrones premiere. I was smitten from the moment the More >

Paranormal Activity 2. 10pm showing on opening day (can you say opening day if it’s not related to baseball?). So excited and also a little apprehensive. Experience has shown that sequels don’t usually live up to the original but I was still hoping to enjoy Paranormal Activity 2 as much as I had enjoyed the original. And I did!

Once, when I was about 20, my boyfriend and I took a weekend trip to Connecticut and it is fair to say, “Connecticut is scary.” In Connecticut, people live by their own set of rules and their rules only faintly resemble those in the rest of the county. For instance, in Connecticut, those octagonal red and white signs people usually stop their cars for are an inconvenience to be ignored and pedestrian crossings are not for the faint of heart. As soon as I saw the preview for A Haunting in Connecticut I was sure it would be just as More >

I admit it, I have been remiss. Not only, as my sister pointed out, have I not posted since November but I also haven’t posted anything for the new Nightmare on Elm Street and I saw it nearly two weeks ago. I won’t even bother defending myself for the November thing. What can I say that you couldn’t guess? Christmas, kids, life, you know how it goes. Nightmare though, there I have a perfectly reasonable explanation. I went to the midnight show. On a Thursday. It seemed like such a fun idea when I was out drinking and dancing the More >
